Which bags are changing to the new crimp bottom style?
Our BOPPG, DLN, NFG, and CC Bags are changing to the new crimp bottom style. These new gusseted crimp bottom bags are made in our facility in Seattle, and should function the same as the old fold over bottom bags and stand up when filled.
Why is the bottom style change occurring?
The equipment used to manufacture the fold over bottom is very old (nearly 70 years!) and we are no longer able to get parts, nor is this machine type manufactured any longer. We made the decision to invest in new equipment so that we could continue to make as many bags as possible in the USA.
When is the bottom style change occurring?
The switch has been occurring as we sell through existing inventory of the fold over bottom bags.
How can I tell if the bags I’m ordering will have a crimp or fold over bottom?
SKUs that end in -C have the new crimp bottom, whereas SKUs without -C at the end are the old fold over bottom. For example, DLN2RED (fold over) became DLN2RED-C (crimp).
Can I just order the old fold over style?
In many instances we do still have fold over inventory remaining. However, if you see a SKU ending in -C for a particular item online, this means that we have sold out of the old fold over bottom in this size, and will not be producing more.
Can I do a custom run of the old style?
Until the equipment dies, we will accept custom orders for clear fold over bottom bags. Pricing for the 10,000 is at the base price (not quantity discounted) for the equivalent stock bag. Lead time will depend on our backlog, and could range from 4-10 weeks. Please contact a member of our sales team for more information.
