Glerup-Revere Company
Founded August 1, 1938 by Marius Glerup, the MJ Glerup Company specialized in brokerage of ingredients, raw materials and packaging for the candy industry. His was a successful, one-man operation for over 20 years, selling mainly to regional confectioners here in the Pacific Northwest. Marius took great pride in providing excellent service and top-notch products to his clients.
In 1960 his son-in-law, Bill Revere, joined the company. Marius welcomed Bill, who became a partner in 1965. Their partnership became known as Glerup-Revere Company. During his tenure with Glerup-Revere, Bill shifted the focus of the company from ingredients to packaging, and began importing foil wrap for the fast-food industry and confectioners. Today Bill is Chairman of Glerup-Revere and actively plans, staffs, and represents Glerup-Revere on the trade show circuit.
Mark Revere joined the partnership in 1981. With Mark's influence came rapid changes to the company, as Glerup-Revere transitioned from a brokerage firm to distribution, stocking and manufacturing. Glerup-Revere began aggressively marketing and broadened their customer base to a national level, introducing elegant European packaging and a color catalog to showcase it. With these changes came rapid growth, two moves to larger facilities, and a nearly three-fold increase in staff. In 1991 Mark and Sally Revere married, and became co-owners in 1996. The philosophy of the company continues to be to provide unique products and exceptional customer service.
Union Bay Label
In 1990, in response to client's requests to provide custom-printed foil in small quantities, the company bought its first printing press. At this time a second company was formed, Union Bay Label. With a mission to provide high-end printing capabilities, creative solutions, and competitive prices, Union Bay Label installed one of the country's first fully digital prepress departments and purchased five more printing presses. Today UBL has eight-color printing capabilities, and produces printed labels, hangtags, sleeves, film and foil, and offers foil stamping and embossing. UBL products are used by gourmet food producers, the beverage and wine industries, consumer products manufacturers, the candy industry, specialty coffee roasters and syrup manufacturers, software duplicators, bakeries, and in many other industries.
Mimi et Cie
In 2002 Mark and Sally found an opportunity to purchase Mimi et Cie decorative packaging. Referred to as "The Rolls Royce of decorative packaging" over the past nineteen years, Mimi et Cie specializes in innovative, copyrighted, exclusive, bag and printed film designs. Mimi Singleton, founder of Mimi et Cie decorative packaging, decided to retire and to sell the business to a company that would maintain the ideals and standards she had set for her business:
"Mimi et Cie has grown over the past 20 years into a company of which I am extremely proud. Upon retiring, I wanted to leave my business in capable hands that would maintain the highest quality standards of business integrity, design and manufacture. It was also important to me that my customers continue to get the personal attention that they deserve. I am sure that Glerup-Revere is the best choice and has committed to continue these high standards. I want to thank my wonderful customers who have so loyally supported Mimi et Cie over the years and helped us grow - I will miss you."
Mimi Singleton
As was the MJ Glerup Company of 1938, Glerup-Revere, Union Bay Label, and Mimi et Cie are dedicated to their client partnerships and to providing unique, innovative packaging and labeling solutions with excellent customer service.
"My grandfather founded our company 65 years ago with two key principles in mind; He was committed to providing exceptional customer service, and he took care to provide his customers the right products and services for their needs. Today, Glerup-Revere Company holds true to these principles. We are committed to serving our customers well and to offering them a broad range of products, making it easy and convenient for them to find all of their packaging and printing needs in one place. The addition of Mimi et Cie fits the mission of our company directly, as it is a product line built on quality of design, material, and service. It is a perfect complement to the products and services we have been providing to our customers since 1938."
